BIG COTTON VERSION

Pattern level: Intermediate

Sizes:  XS - 2X/3X

Materials:

  • Loopy Mango Big Cotton Yarn 48 yds 43 m | 100 g 3.5 oz each, 100% cotton
  • Size US 17 (12 mm) circular needles 32'' (80 cm) in length
  • Size US 19 (15 mm) circular needles 32'' (80 cm) in length

Note: This kit requires US 19 (15 mm) circular needles 32’’ (80 cm) and US 17 (12 mm) circular needles 32’’ (80 cm).  For sleeves you will need to use magic loop method when using size US 19 (15 mm) circular needles 32’’ (80 cm).  To avoid magic loop for sleeves you can use an additional size US 19 (15 mm) 20’’ (50 cm) knitting needles.

For neck and cuffs you will need to use magic loop method when using size US 17 (12 mm) circular needles 32’’ (80 cm).  To avoid magic loop you will need to use an additional set of size US 17 (12 mm) double pointed needles (DPN’s).

Top-Down Sweater in Big Cotton is knit from the top-down and in the round with straightforward raglan shaping. The stockinette and raglan rhythm makes these styles joyful (and quick!) to knit - as well as accessible to a wide range of knitting levels!  Since you are knitting top down you can easily adjust the length of the sweater and sleeves to fit your needs.

GaugeStockinette on size US 19: 7 sts/4", 10 rows/4". 1x1 rib on size US 17 8 sts/4’’, 10.5 rows/4’’. This sweater is knit in the round so your gauge swatch for stockinette stitch should also be knit in the round - usually knitting stockinette stitch in the round results in tighter tension since there are no purl rows.
