Yes! We are usually shipping online orders 3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, from Hyde Park, NY. We are occasionally open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sometimes our schedule can change due to inclement weather and FedEx operating hours. Our shipping department will be closed November 24-27, December 26 and January 2.
Do you have a store?
Our store in Rhinebeck, NY at 71 E Market St. is now permanently closed. (Our Beacon store is also closed.) Our online store is ALWAYS OPEN.
Is Loopy Mango currently shipping to my area?

What safety measures is Loopy Mango taking when packing my order?
We are incredibly conscientious about making sure your order is packed carefully and safely. We are practicing safe distancing from each other, delivery personnel, and any other people we may have to interact with. We are regularly disinfecting surfaces and are reasonably quarantining incoming packages.
Can I buy Loopy Mango patterns individually?
We have select patterns available for individual purchase on our website and on Ravelry. We also have a number of free patterns available! Our Loopy Mango Knitting pattern book, released in 2019, includes 34 of our most popular patterns.

Our patterns are provide for personal use only. Any commercial use (including but not limited to making garments for sale using Loopy Mango patterns) is not allowed.
I have a question about your pattern or a knitting question. Who can I contact?
We are able to answer questions about Loopy Mango patterns via email loopy[at]loopymango.com. We are not able to provide knitting instruction and we highly recommend that you select a project that fits your knitting level. We do provide lots of knitting video tutorials on our Youtube channel. It is helpful to look up the listing of the DIY kit for the project you are working on on our website- there are links to helpful videos in that listing. How do I order yarn in the same dye lot?
We will do our best to match dye lots within an order and will let you know if we are unable to. Big Loop does not have any dye lots, but we will visually match skeins.
You can request a specific dye lot in the “Add a note to your order” section in your shopping cart. We will honor your request if possible. Otherwise, you can email us at loopy [at] loopymango.com before you place your order to see if we have the dye lot you’re looking for available.
How do I know which size kit is right for me?
Please refer to the product listing page to view all available sizes in a given style and corresponding measurements. If you’re not sure which size to choose, we suggest measuring a garment of your own that you like the fit of and comparing it to the provided measurements. We strive to show our knit samples in a variety of sizes and we highly recommend viewing our videos of Oejong presenting the garments so that you can see the samples in motion!
How much does shipping cost?
We offer FREE standard shipping on domestic orders over $100 and FREE standard shipping on international orders over $200. Select "FREE standard shipping" at checkout.
If your order doesn’t reach this amount, simply add the items you wish to buy to your shopping cart to see applicable shipping rates. Most domestic orders are shipped with FedEx, some are shipped with USPS.
International orders are usually shipped with FedEx Express (2-5 business days, not including possible delays with customs).
In some rare cases, certain addresses (usually in Australia) are considered to be "remote" by FedEx (we have no control over this) and will incur an additional $40 shipping charge. Unfortunately, we don't know until we start processing your order whether your address is considered to be “remote” or not. If it is, we will contact you and you will have an option either to pay an extra $40 charge or we can ship your order at no extra charge with regular post, USPS Priority. USPS Priority takes 5-10 business days compared to 2-5 business days with FedEx.
Does Loopy Mango ship internationally?
Yes! We ship to any country with free shipping on international orders over $200 (note that free shipping refers to transportation only, any applicable duty/taxes are an additional cost).
Will I be charged custom fees/VAT?
Our international shipping charge does not include any local duties or taxes, and they may be charged separately by your country’s customs department - they are different in every country and we have no control over them. You are not paying them to us, you are paying them to your own government. If you have any questions about duties/taxes please email us at loopy [at] loopymango.com.
How long does shipping take?
Orders typically take 1-3 business days (not including weekends and holidays) to process and pack. Once it ships, standard shipping usually takes:
- 2-5 business days for domestic orders
- 2-5 business days for international orders (FedEx International) - all countries except for Russia, North Korea and some other exceptions
Please note that during holidays and sales, processing and shipping time can take longer than normal.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
We currently offer 3 day express shipping. Note that our shipping department is normally open only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We may be able to upgrade your order to 1 or 2 business day express for additional fee - please contact our customer service at orders[at]loopymango.com or by calling 845-765-2475.
Do I have to pay sales tax?
Sales tax will only apply to your order if your shipping address is located in New York state.

Can I cancel my order if it hasn't shipped out yet?
If you would like to cancel an online order that hasn't shipped out yet we will be able to refund the amount equal to what you paid minus any transaction fees. We are charged transaction fees on all transactions by our credit card processor and Paypal. These fees can vary from 3% to 4.7%. Since these fees are charged to us automatically when your order is placed they cannot be refunded.
Where is Loopy Mango yarn made?
Big Loop Yarn is 100% made in the USA. The fiber, from American raised sheep, is dyed domestically and then spun into yarn at our mill. Merino No. 5, Merino Worsted, Big Cotton, Mohair So Soft, Summer, and Fluffy Alpaca are made in Italy.
What standards are the yarn produced under?
All of our yarn is ethically sourced and our merino wool comes from non-mulesed sheep.
Our Cotton yarns, Big Cotton and Summer, are un-mercerized, and minimally processed to preserve the fiber’s natural softness and elasticity.

Why merino wool?
We want the softest yarn for all of your special handknit treasures. We picked merino wool because of its small footprint, breathable nature, and extreme softness.
Merino sheep have extremely fine fibers that result in very soft yarn (this isn't like that scratchy sweater your Great Aunt knit you). Merino is soft and comfortable to wear, no matter what the weather is. If it's a little too warm, merino wool will wick away the moisture to keep you comfy cozy. If it's a little too cold, it will hold onto the warm air in its chunky fibers without weighing you down - think of it as wearing a fluffy cloud.
But, aside from wanting a comfortable, super soft yarn, it is important to us that our products do not hurt the environment. Unlike synthetic fibers, our 100% Merino is 100% renewable and biodegradable- which makes us and Mother Earth happy!
I'm a beginner knitter. Will I be able to knit with chunky yarn such as Merino No. 5 and Big Loop Yarn and giant needles?
Yes! In fact, you will knit faster and will make a lot fewer mistakes than knitting with smaller yarn and needles. Since the yarn and tools are so large you will be able to see exactly what you are doing and will better understand how knitting stitches work. Plus, we offer lots of video tutorials on our Youtube channel which are suitable for absolute beginners.
Are knots in yarn normal?
Knots are an unfortunate but unavoidable reality in all kinds of yarn. They are caused by manufacturing techniques that keep prices down, so a few knots in a skein are considered to be acceptable by most manufacturers. Knots are more common with super bulky yarns as compared to thinner (worsted and lighter weight) yarns since a ball of chunkier yarn typically has more weight (150 g, 200 g, etc.) compared to lighter weight yarns (50 g, 100 g).
Coming across a knot while knitting can be frustrating, but there are multiple ways to efficiently deal with them. Essentially, a knot is a joining of two ends, so you can treat it exactly as you would treat joining a new ball of yarn. Simply untie or cut the knot, use your preferred joining method, and keep on knitting! One of our favorite joining methods is to connect ends of yarn together with a felting needle. Alternatively, if you’re working on a project like a hat or sweater, you can push the knot through your stitches so that it is on the inside of your garment.
Is it better to knit tightly or loosely with Big Loop Yarn?
We recommend knitting loosely for blankets and throws, especially if you are a tight knitter and particularly when you cast off. Big Loop needs room to breathe - it will bloom over time and get thicker. For rugs and garments (such as hats and jackets )we recommend knitting tighter.
Do I need to block my project?
Our projects are designed to be worn right off the needles, no blocking required!
