For the cuffs you will need to use magic loop method when using size US 17 (12 mm) circular needles 32’’ (80 cm). To avoid magic loop for cuffs you will need to use an additional set of size US 17 (12 mm) DPN’s.
Gauge: Stockinette on size US 19: 7 sts/4", 9 rows/4". 1x1 rib on size US 17 9 sts/4’’, 10 rows/4’’. This cardigan is knit in the round so your gauge swatch for stockinette stitch should also be knit in the round - usually knitting stockinette stitch in the round results in tighter tension since there are no purl rows.
