Big, bold flowers meet chunky merino in our new Flower Vest! This sleeveless pullover features oversized floral colorwork on both the front and back, a relaxed fit, and a ribbed neckline and hem.
Knit in our super bulky Merino No. 5, the large stitches make every flower a delight to watch take shape. Go bright and unexpected with your color choices, or create your own flower garden in softer shades. Layer it over a crisp white shirt, pair it with your favorite skirt or jeans, and let the flowers steal the show!
This vest is knit in two panels that are seamed together at the shoulders and on the sides leaving arm openings. Panels are knitted flat from bottom up. Both panels can be knit either on straight or circular needles. Neckline is knit in the round by picking up stitches around the neck. Both body panels feature stranded colorwork throughout.
Tip: this project uses super bulky yarn for colorwork - you don’t have to carry the yarn for the rows or sections (edges of each panel) where MC or LC color is not used to prevent the garment from getting too heavy.
Gauge: Stockinette stitch on size US 15 (10 mm): 9 sts & 11 rows/4” (10 cm)
